Boarding
Full and five-day boarders are cared for by a resident matron and housemaster, with assistance from duty staff and resident tutors. A close-knit, happy and warm environment is fostered in the boarding house. To encourage a feeling of home-away-from-home, boarders are provided with their own Common Room, as well as being able to use many of the excellent on site facilities in their spare time. Wholesome nutritious meals are based on fresh, local produce.
The dormitories are modern, comfortable and well laid-out. There is an impressive array of ancillary facilities including a sick bay, surgery (for the School Medical Officer’s daily visit) and an isolation room. The Rainbow Wing, completed in 1972, provides a sunny dormitory block with delightful open views of the surrounds. Matron’s quarters occupy one end of the wing, the Headmaster’s house on the other.
The Boarders have their own Common Room and in their spare time are able to use the gym, the art room, the computer suite, the technology block, the library and, at appropriate times, all the facilities in the grounds including the swimming pool (under adult supervision only), the all-weather tennis courts, the cricket nets, the playing fields and Scout's Gully (bush woodland).
Medical care is readily available, with daily visits from a doctor and regular dental check ups. Throughout the year, a variety of recreational outings are arranged for full boarders. These include: windsurfing, ten pin bowling, golf, roller blading, farm visits and trips to the superb local beaches.
A flexible and realistic system of exeats, dinner-leaves and town-leaves exists, which meets the needs of parents and boarders, while retaining the ethos of a boarding school.
The boarders are fully integrated with day boys during normal school hours.
