Facilities
Hereworth is justifiably proud of the comprehensive resources and facilities provided within the perimeters of the School. Within its magnificent 9.5 hectares of well maintained, award winning grounds, the School has many highly regarded academic, social and sporting amenities including; a top quality cricket oval, large grounds catering for all major sports, astro-turf courts, hard court areas, gymnasium and swimming pool. Two adventure playgrounds along with various hedges, trees, banks and the wilderness area of ‘Scouts Gully', provide plenty of challenges for the boys in their breaks from the classroom programme.
The original main building contains a vibrant, well equipped Library, stimulating Art Studio, Science Lab, learning support room, a number of music practice rooms, newly renovated Founders' Room and welcoming reception/administration area. The library is a comfortable, inviting space and is the academic heart of the School. In the same way, the Chapel is its spiritual heart.
Bright airy classrooms in the ‘Wiremu' and ‘Sturge' blocks (housing Year Four to Eight classes) are complemented by a state of the art Technology and Music building, which also houses two progressive Computer Suites. A newly developed Junior School block (‘Alpha' to Year Three classes) is very spacious, self contained and in close proximity to other school facilities.
"The school community is justifiably proud of its school. Students and teachers enjoy generous provision of equipment and facilities for learning, teaching, sporting, academic, cultural, and recreational activities. The board gives priority to the provision of high quality premises and learning resources. Classrooms throughout the school are modern, vibrant, well-equipped and industrious environments that significantly contribute to student success and motivation in learning. Buildings and grounds are expansive, highly attractive and well maintained."
