Hereworth Parents' Association

The Hereworth Parents’ Association is great way for parents like yourself to get involved in the fun, behind-the-scenes aspects of the School’s social calendar.

From our entertaining Quiz Night to our Mother’s Day High Tea, HPA members help to plan and execute events that both fundraise for the School and increase awareness of Hereworth in the community.

And once the fundraising is done, the HPA also helps to decide where those funds are allocated

HPA Events held during 2023

2023 was a wonderful year, and here are some of the events that the HPA helped to organise.

Mother’s Day High Tea – this celebration of Hereworth Mums, Grandmothers, Aunts and Carers was held on our Chapel lawn in May and raised over $1600 for the charity Jammies4June.

Quiz Night - Our annual quiz night was a brilliant success, raising over $30,000 for the Multi-Sport Facility Fundraising venture.  Parents and friends of the School joined us for an evening of brain-bending questions, dress up, food, friends and great times.

Father’s Day at Hereworth - We once again thanked the amazing Dads of Hereworth with an event held on School grounds. Games for the students and a BBQ and cold drink for the dads made this a wonderful way to spend an afternoon at Hereworth in the late autumn sun.

Recent purchases made by the HPA

The HPA has helped Hereworth purchase some incredible items over the years, helping to fire the imaginations of our boys and girls throughout the School.

Just some of the recent purchases include -

Two Concrete Table tennis. These are in constant use during morning tea and lunch.

Junior Shade System. An essential addition to our Junior School playground.

Laser Cutter. Our boys and girls are constantly finding creative ways to use this machine.

Epro 8 Kits.  A mix of engineering, tech, and science, these kits are a huge hit with our students.

Come to an HPA meeting

If you’re interested in joining us for an HPA meeting, we’d love to have you.

There’s no obligation, you can meet the team and help us discuss upcoming events for the School in a meeting that will take no more than 90 minutes. All meetings are held in the Founders’ Room and take place at 3.15pm, so it’s perfect timing for the after-school run.

If you would like to come to our next meeting, please email us at hpa@hereworth.school.nz.

If you would like to talk about joining the HPA so you can positively influence the School, also email us at hpa@hereworth.school.nz.
