Five Games. One Amazing Day. 

Join us on Saturday 6 December for a full day of sport as our students take on teams of Hereworth Alumni and Supporters in cricket, tennis and softball.

With five matches being played across the school grounds, this will be a day of sport to remember, and a chance for all Hereworth families to spectate from the sidelines. This day will also feature two staples in the Hereworth calendar - The Wahi Pai cricket match, and the Dr Reeve Cricket match - and we're excited to introduce these two historic matches to a larger audience.  

This event is open to the entire Hereworth community, and we can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than being on school grounds watching sport unfold. So if you can make it, bring a picnic, some blankets and friends, and turn up at any time from 9.30am onward. 

Schedule for the day:

9:30am 1st XI Cricket players at 1st Club Pavilion

2nd XI Cricket players meet at No. 2 Cricket Ground

Year 8 XI players meet at No. 5 Stags Cricket Ground

All Softball players meet at the Softball diamond (Ritchie Field)

10:00am Cricket games commence (Hereworth students bat first)

Softball match commences

11:15am Drinks break & Morning Tea

1st XI: 1st Club Pavilion

2nd XI and Year 8 XI: Marquees alongside Cricket Ground

Softball: Alongside Softball Diamond

12:30pm Lunch for all adult players and supporters in the Euan Bidwell Lounge. Hereworth students will have BBQ lunch provided at the Hereworth Clubhouse Pavilion. 

Lunch will be provided by the Hereworth Alumni and Supporters’ Association 

Parents of Hereworth cricket players are asked to bring a plate of something sweet for morning tea (this could be fruit).  1st XI players, please bring your plate to 1st Club Pavilion. 2nd XI and Year 8 XI, please bring your plate to the Clubhouse Pavilion (Winter Pavilion).

12:45pm All Tennis players (Students and Old Boys & Girls/Supporters) meet at the Tennis courts 

1:00pm Cricket games resume

Tennis team matches commence

2:00pm Compulsory declaration in all Cricket matches

2:10pm Wahi Pai, Dr Reeve, Alumni & Supporters Cricket innings begin

3:20pm 10 minute afternoon tea break in the Cricket games

3:30pm Cricket games resume - 15 overs to be bowled in the last hour

4:30pm Scheduled finish time for all Cricket games.

4:45pm Speeches beside each venue

5:00pm Refreshments available for all players, supporters and family members in the Euan Bidwell Lounge

Match Rules Below:

Cricket

Matches start at 10:00am and must conclude by 4:30pm (15 over last hour) 

15 overs must be bowled in the last hour, starting at 3:30pm 

8 pace maximum run up for all Adults/Supporters/Old Boys 

Hereworth 1st XI, 2nd XI, Year 8 XI bat first - compulsory declaration at 2:00pm or 60 overs whichever comes first. 

Tennis Matches start at 1:00pm 

Singles matches are 2 sets  | 1st to 4 by two clear games | 7 point tie break at 4 all | 10 point tie break if one set all

Doubles matches are 1 set | 1st to 9 by two clear games |  7 point tie break at 9 all 

Softball The match starts at 10:00am. Timed game to finish at approximately 12:00pm. 

Number of fielders on the diamond can be adjusted to suit the teams (Old Boys & Girls/Supporters can sub mid innings)
