The increased demand for Hereworth’s smaller class sizes, remarkable teachers and opportunities for children in Years 0 to 8 has seen certain year groups now reach capacity.

Hereworth Class Structure

To ensure every Hereworth student receives the individual attention they deserve, we intentionally limit our class sizes. This commitment to quality teaching and learning means that for 2027, several year levels are already close to, or at, capacity.

Our primary intake points are now at the New Entrant (Year 0 or 1), Year 5, and Year 7 levels, where we add additional classes to increase capacity.

However, we still warmly encourage applications for all other year levels as places can become available at any time, and the class capacity increases slightly as students move up through the school.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are places limited in certain year levels? We prioritise a high-quality learning environment where every child is known. To maintain this, our class sizes range from a maximum of 16 students for Years 0 and 1 to 24 students in Years 7 and 8.

What are the chances of getting a place outside of the main intake years? Because our class capacity increases by two places at every year level from Year 2 up to Year 5, new spots naturally open up each year. Additionally, should a current family move or their circumstances change, we immediately look to our wait pool to fill that space.

What to do if your chosen year group is currently full? The most important piece of advice we can give you is to get in touch with us immediately, or fill out an application form online. That way we’ll know who you are, what your family situation is, and keep you up-to-date with the enrolment situation.

A school roll is an ever-changing number, and we do have spaces open up on occasion as families move on from their time at Hereworth.
